The Indian Premier League format of Cricket game was started only last year by the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e, BCCI. It was having eight teams competing for the cup with millions of dollars of price money for the winning team.
Each team had a maximum of four foreign players, who were from all top cricket playing nations like Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
The teams were playing against each other in a nail biting 20 overs format. Each team had to play for only twenty overs , and the entire game would get over in three hours time.
Because of the presence of great talents in each team, the match used to be a thriller every minute with lot of fortune changes happening regularly. That resulted in massive viewer ship for the program across the globe.
That brought in massive advertisement revenues for the BCCI which ended up raking over 300 million dollars in the process.
Now, the BCCI has firmed up the IPL2 series which is to be played in South Africa from today. The format remains the same and there will be four foreign players per team, with dominant Indian presence in each team.
BCCI was forced to take out the IPL2 series out of India due to the reluctance of the Government of India in providing the needed security for the players and spectators.
There are people who say that politics played spoil sport for the game this time, and the massive money involved made BCCI courageous enough to take the game out of India on a short notice.
And there was a bitter fight between England Cricket board and South African Cricket board to host the game on short notice, but the priced series was won by South African Cricket board, because it was able to show the much needed speed and efficiency in planning out the entire schedule in few days.

Mexico is the first country to get a massive 47 billion US dollars credit , to tide over the massive economic crisis it is facing.
The IMF has started committing new credit lines for struggling countries under the new fast track clearance system which has been put in place recently.
As part of the credit support, the Mexico Central bank has slashed the bank interest rate by 75 basis points. Experts tracking Mexico, say that the loan could help the country to first stop the steep economic downturn it is facing.
If the global economy turns around within the next six to eight months, then there is a likely hood of Mexico turning the corner by 2010 beginning.
Mexico depends on US for over 80% of its trade and thus a reversal of US fortunes is vital. The industrial production fell by a massive 14% last month in Mexico, which is the steepest fall in over a decade.
Just a year back, Mexico has been thriving on the back of a strong US economy, but the sub-prime crisis exposed the danger of depending on a single customer.
Mexico might take longer time to reduce it’s dependence on US because entering other markets may not be that easy in the current economic situation.
There are many European countries which are waiting in queue for IMF bailout.

Two decades back, people used to watch only five days test match cricket for all the thrill and the sport used to be dominated by the West Indies team and England team.
A decade back, things started changing and people started liking the toned down version of one day game wherein each team was asked to play for sixty overs each.
Few years down the line, it was fine tuned further and reduced to fifty overs per side in a day. So by the end of the day, people could see the result of the match with many interesting moments in between.
Now, we are seeing a further toned down version I.e, the 20-20 format wherein teams plan for only 20 overs per side, and the entire match is over in just three hours.
The latest version of the game has got instant acceptance across the globe and more and more countries are expected to introduce the version in their country locally also.

The Indian cricket team used to be never recognized for their capabilities a decade back. And most of the International Cricket Council members, that controls the Cricket sports across the globe, were from Australia , England and Newzealand.
But all that has changed in the last five years. With growing popularity for the sports in India, and with lot of advertising revenue generation, the Indian cricket board, became the richest cricket board in the world, far richer than the ICC.
That changed the tide in favor of the Indian cricket board, called BCCI. They now decide on all the key decisions in ICC and have been able to put their people on key positions in ICC in spite of great resistance from Europeans.
And the latest Indian Premier League format, has been generating millions of dollars for BCCI, far higher than what they earned for several years together in the last decade.
