The public will be called on to vote on the invention which is the most significant. The Science Museum in London has chosen a top 10 list of its most significant objects, as part of events marking its centenary celebrations. It asks a simple question : Which was the more important invention - the railway revolution ushered in by Stephenson’s Rocket or the life-saving achievements of penicillin? It has listed the 10 inventions and the public is going to be asked to vote. The 10 in the list are :

Stephenson’s Rocket
X-ray machine
Model T Ford
Penicillin
Pilot ACE Computer

Apollo 10 capsule
