Goldman Sachs reports bumper profits

Tuesday Jul 14, 2009

The April to June quarter has proved to be a bonanza for Goldman Sachs employees, because all of them will get a hefty and unbelievable bonus amount of approximately 226000 dollars per employee.
Just a month back the company repaid the entire TARP fund taken from US government during the peak of the financial crisis last year. The company has attributed the profits to the massive increase in business coupled with healthy margins due to low competition.
The results are indeed raising questions on the government bailout funding strategy in the first place, since the funds given to Goldman Sachs could have been used for more useful purpose.
